Google announced in the Google My Business Help forums and on Twitter that now restaurants can add and edit their menu listings directly in the Google My Business console.

Allyson Wright, Community Manager, Google My Business wrote:

Google My Business listing owners have had the ability to add and edit their own menu links in the info tab of their dashboard. Now, in addition to using the GMB API or 3P menu service, listing owners will be able to showcase their menu directly on their Google listing for consumers on mobile by adding their own structured menu using the GMB Info tab.

Use this editor to add menu items (dishes) including title, description, and price, as well as to create multiple sections of the menu, i.e. appetizers, entrees, and desserts.

This feature will only be available if the listing is not currently connected to a third party provider and for listings in English speaking locals. If one of your listings is currently displaying an incorrect menu, please see this help center link for more information on how to correct or remove the link.

Here is where the info tab would show the menu link if you have access to this feature:

Then when you click on it, it would launch this screen:

click for full size

Not ever business will have this option, you need to be considered some sort of location that has menus, like restaurants. Plus, it is only available for those who already are connected to a third party provider and for listings in English speaking locals.

Late 2016, Google gave businesses the ability to control their menu links and last year they began showing up in the local panels but menus themselves have been in these results since 2014 and earlier.
